Celebrating Excellence: 2025 ERDSI Fellows Lead the Future of Biomedical Research and Data Science in Africa

ERDSI 2025 Fellows

The Elite Research and Data Science Institute (ERDSI) proudly celebrates the successful completion of the 2025 ERDSI Fellowship , a transformative program designed to empower young African researchers with practical data-driven skills and mentorship.

Over the past months, fellows participated in intensive modules covering statistical programming (R, Python, GraphPad Prism, SPSS), research design, and scientific communication alongside practical hands on research projects. The program blended lectures, projects, and mentorship – enabling participants to transform raw data into insights for real-world biomedical and public health challenges.

“This fellowship is more than a training program; it’s a movement toward empowering African researchers to lead in the global data revolution,” Ebenezer Senu, Founder of ERDSI.

Through interactive projects, fellows analyzed complex health datasets, designed research protocols, and collaborated on case studies addressing local health concerns. The initiative underscored ERDSI’s commitment to accessible, high-quality research training and open science for Africa’s development.

“At ERDSI, we are training the next generation of leaders who use data to drive scientific innovation globally” — Valentine C. Tamakloe, Director of ERDSI Fellowship.

💡 The Road Ahead

Graduating fellows now join ERDSI’s growing alumni network — a community of change-makers using data science, research, and collaboration to improve healthcare outcomes and policy decisions across Africa.

ERDSI remains committed to providing continued mentorship, advanced workshops, and collaborative opportunities to sustain this momentum.

We celebrate all our fellows for their dedication and excellence. Together, we are building a continent where data drives discovery, and knowledge fuels transformation.

Keep an eye out for the rollout of the next edition of the ERDSI Fellowship. Join, learn, and drive positive change in Africa and beyond through data and research.
