We are excited to announce an open call for a Volunteer Social Media Manager to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing social platforms within a research and data science driven environment, while helping to shape how scientific work is shared and understood by wider audiences
About the Role
As our Social Media Manager, you will play a key role in telling our story, from showcasing ongoing research to highlighting events, publications, and breakthroughs in data science and public health.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing and growing our social media presence on platforms including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Creating and scheduling engaging posts about our research, activities, and team.
- Collaborating with team members on campaigns/publicity, and virtual events.
- Designing simple visuals and write-ups in clear and accessible content.
Minimum Requirements
- 1-2 hours/week availability
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Basic content creation skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- Interest in science, data, education, or nonprofit work
