ERDSI Officially Accreditated by AHPC to Run CPD Programs – A Milestone for Professional Development in Ghana and Beyond

ERDSI is officially accreditated by AHPC to run CPD programs

We are proud to announce that ERDSI has been officially accredited by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) to organize and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs for allied-health professionals across Ghana. This recognition marks a significant milestone — not only for ERDSI, but for the future of biomedical education, training, and capacity building across the continent.

What This Accreditation Means

  • The AHPC – established under Act 857 (2013) – is the statutory regulatory body responsible for overseeing the training and practice of allied health professions in Ghana: from program accreditation, licensure, to ongoing professional development.
  • Under its mandate, AHPC requires that allied-health professionals engage in accredited CPD activities each year to maintain their license and professional standing.
  • By becoming an official AHPC-accredited CPD provider, ERDSI is now qualified to offer high-quality training and educational events that count towards these mandatory CPD points.

This means that allied health practitioners – including laboratory scientists, biomedical researchers, and all other healthcare professionals – can now access ERDSI’s data-driven, science-based training programs and have them officially recognized for licensure renewal and professional development.

Why This Matters for Health Professionals & the Public

  1. Ensures Credibility and Compliance
With AHPC accreditation, ERDSI’s CPD courses meet regulatory standards for professional training – assuring participants, employers, and regulatory bodies of quality, relevance, and ethical compliance.
  2. Bridges Gaps in Biomedical Data Literacy
ERDSI’s strength lies in data science, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, biostatistics, and research methodology. African health professionals often lack access to structured training in these areas. Our CPD courses will fill that gap – empowering practitioners to analyze data, conduct research, and interpret results within their local context.
  3. Advances Continuous Learning & Capacity Building
As medicine and biomedical science evolve rapidly, professionals need lifelong learning to stay current. ERDSI’s CPD programs offer a sustainable route for ongoing education – improving diagnostics, research output, and evidence-based healthcare delivery.
  4. Supports Career Growth and Mobility
For individual professionals, CPD accreditation opens doors to career advancement, credential renewal, and enhanced recognition across institutions and countries.
  5. Promotes Local Ownership and African-led Innovation
By offering CPD through a home-grown, African-led institution, ERDSI reinforces self-reliance in research and training — reducing dependence on foreign programs and building context-appropriate skills.

What’s Next: ERDSI’s CPD Program Roadmap

From 2026, ERDSI will launch its first series of AHPC-accredited CPD courses in areas including:

  • Biomedical Data Science & Statistics (SPSS, GraphPad, STATA, R, Python)
  • Research Ethics & Methodology
  • Scientific Writing, Publication & Grant Writing
  • AI & Informatics in Biomedical Research

These training sessions will be offered virtually, hybrid, and in-person – ensuring maximum accessibility for professionals across Ghana.

We invite health professionals, biomedical scientists, laboratory practitioners, and researchers — especially those registered under AHPC — to enroll. Earn your CPD points, enhance your competence, and contribute to stronger health systems in Ghana and beyond.
